I Hope October Never Ends

I made our favorite fall dessert last night.  Apple Crisp.

Here is the recipe......

Apple Crisp
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large apples, peeled, cored & sliced
1/4 - 1/2 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine butter, brown sugar, and flour; mix with a fork to form topping and set aside. Place sliced apples in a greased one-and-one-half-quart baking dish, and add water. Combine granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt; sprinkle over apples. Spread topping evenly over all. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream!  Yum!

I love October too! This morning I have a pot of beef, vegetable and barley soup simmering on the stove. I was thinking about making an apple crisp too. After seeing yours, I know I will. Lovely and inspirational pics too. Have a great October weekend!

Beautiful photos, and I'm so glad you had a nice time on your anniversary trip...Happy Anniversary! I made apple cake tonight, but maybe next week I'll make an apple crisp...it's perfect for October!

Beautiful pictures and I can smell the apple crisp and I can taste it with vanilla ice cream on top! And I wonder why I am getting more round in the middle!

The best way to enjoy pie is with Breyer's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream! Your recipe sounds like something I need to try very soon. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite month is October! Although, here in Southern California it is close to being 90 degrees still. Oh well. I still imagine I'm in New England or something! :)
