Back to School
School started on Wednesday, August 4th and I took the standard First-Day-of-School photo.
But there was a problem: "the Senior" had to be at school at 6:30 am to play on the Slip-n-Slide for an hour before school started, so I had to wait and take the photo AFTER school. Yes, a Slip-n-Slide .. a large tarp greased with water and baby oil for the Seniors to play on before the first day of school began. We take our education seriously here in Georgia.
I am already sad - I cannot believe she is a Senior. I know this year will fly by. (To make matters worse, the middle daughter started High School, today, and my son had his first day of Middle School. Could they stop growing, already??!!)
Here is last year's photo.....
And here is a photo I found from 2004.....
Someone should have weeded the walkway.
I took the First-Day-of-School photo outside for many years - until they protested. Now it is an indoor photoshoot.
Where does the time go?

I love that you have pics for each year. I was not that intentional, and now I so wish I had been.
Blessings!
What a beautiful share this morning. I love your kids photos. Isn't it something how fast they grow? It seems like once they hit Junior High they are gone before you know it.
Now I have got to tell you, I really got ripped off in Oklahoma where I was a senior. We never got to slip and slide. Yes I think you all down there in Georgia take education very seriously, but sweetie how fun for the seniors. What a great way to start off their year.
My kids are all grown now, and I have 8 grandchildren. I have one starting High School this year, 2 starting Junior High this year, 1 going into 5th grade, 1 going into 4th grade, and 1 starting Kindergarten. The 2 youngest are 3 and 2 months. Will be awhile before the get started. My how time flies when you are having fun.
Enjoy those babies, they do grow fast. Have a beautiful day today sweet friend. Thanks for sharing.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

PS...I received a late night text 2 days ago from my oldest thanking me for the wonderful childhood we gave him. He just now has come to realize (after hearing horror stories from friends) what a great home life we had. It made me smile !
Love the slip and slide idea!!
