Camellias - A Glimpse of My Home

My camellias are FINALLY blooming!
(They are running a little late, this year.)

I snipped a couple of the first-bloomers for my main hall. I should have lots of blooms by next week. I have two old camellia bushes (both are japonica variety) that are at least 10 feet in height. I recently planted a new japonica and several sasanqua varieties (sasanqua bloom in the fall/early winter).
These blossoms are from the old japonica bushes.

Can you spot the camellias in these next two photos? (It's like "where's Waldo" amidst all my "stuff"!).......

(The above photo confirms for me that I need a little plant stand -or table -or stool for that plant that is dying by the front door (far left). It is too low and needs a little height in it's final days.)

And here is a glimpse of the camellia bushes out my kitchen window.....

Can you see the blooms I took with my puny camera?

(remember the whimsical painting I made of our kitchen?)

Silver and camellias are just made for each other.....

And "yes" those are the first of my forsythia blooms in the pitcher.

Spring is about to spring in Georgia.

Chatting at The Sky is having a Glimpses of Home party, today.

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful, the camellias and your gorgeous home! A fern stand would look lovely in the corner!

Oh they are sooo pretty. I can't believe you have things blooming already! They look gorgeous in your home:) Love that picture you painted. Have a great weekend Trish.
I love your camellias...we had them in Texas, but not here in Virginia ;-( I really like your kitchen painting..I love checked floors.
I love your camellias. We have 5 of these bushes growing in our yard. They always bloom prolifically. These and my wood violets always herald the return of sunshine and warm temperatures.

I also took a little side trip to your etsy shop while I was here (I think that was my ulterior motive for coming by) because your paintings always make me smile. I'm dreaming of buying the apples in the green bowl, the joy Christmas tree, the hydrangeas with the blue background, and the tree line. I'm sorry I can't buy any now, but hopefully things will get a little better and I can buy all I want!

Thank you for painting the joy I see in your work!
Oh the joy of having camellias growing right outside of your kitchen window! I wish I could grow them here in Indiana.:( Your blooms are so beautiful throughout your lovely house.

Yours are beautiful! They really do look special in that silver.

I noticed this morning that our blooms have burst open nearly overnight. Our camellia is about 10 feet tall too, but I have no idea what kind it is.

I echo the crowd!! Silver and blooms...definite winner but my favorite touch is the "sticks"...Your forsythia's about to bloom!!

I have a thing for 'sticks' though...

Mostly...I must confess my jealousy not just because you have things in bloom, but because you can even grow camillias...

I'm a southern style gardener stuck in the tundra...

Thanks for sharing!
I do love camelia bushes, However I don't have any at this house, I had some beautiful pink ones outside my bedroom window and I sure miss them, thanks for sharing yours...come for a visit and meet the rabbits, ...Phyllis
love your blog's bright colors ( I am a color evangelist) and fun banner. It is a bit early for flowers here in the midwest but I can live vicariously.
