Adding to My Flock

No, Mom, I am not pregnant.

But, I DID get some new bird prints for Christmas.

And they have been sitting patiently in their nests, waiting for me to find some nails, a hammer, and some spare time.

Here they sit..........

Just below the other winged beauties at my front door..........

So I hammered

and pulled nails

and re-hammered

and my flock grew from 8 to 14!

When you are hanging a lot of pictures by a frequently used door,
let's just say "Tape is your Friend."

(Just roll a little between your fingers to form a skinny tube, and slip under the bottom of the frame where the tape does not show. This will keep the frames from swinging and keep your company from getting dizzy while they admire your bird prints).

My grandmother made this needlepoint, many years, ago.........

And I painted this one..........

I actually have several that I painted, myself......

But most I purchased over time.
I posted about some of my birds and where to find them,
here, a few months ago.

Etsy is a great source for bird prints and I am fond of cheap frames.

I also have several from Mary Carol Garrity's HOME collection (and you don't have to drive to Nell Hill's to get them! -To find a store near you that carries Mary Carol items click here.)

Or you can look through the ones I painted on my Etsy site, here.

One more thing: An "assortment" is the key to making these work.
I like to use a variety of frames (different sizes, shapes, colors), as well as an assortment of birds (paintings, prints, needlepoint, etc.)

These are so pretty! I am also a big fan of bird prints, I liked how you grouped them together in a theme. And I also have light yellow walls with dark hardwood. I love mine, but boy are they a hassle to clean! :D

Your new flock looks great. You did a wonderful job of hanging a variety of different frames and making them look cohesive - not an easy thing to do.

Love the arrangement of your "flock" and how special to have your grandmother's needle work to display!

I love the little bluebird print you painted! We have lots of bluebirds that visit our yard each day and they were my mother's favorite bird, which makes them even more special to me!

I use that gummy stuff in one lower corner, you know... the stuff the college kids use to hang things on the walls, to hold a picture straight. It works great and doesn't damage the walls.

What a great impact those make!

Love bird overloading. We use those little silicon dots that you'd put on your kitchen drawers and doors that keep them from banging when you close them. One little dot on the bottom of the frame does a nice job.

I like the way you have them arranged and that you did some yourself - very special and sweet!

This is such a great grouping...another good source of bird prints is calendars! Cavallini and Co. makes some gorgeous ones, I have several framed around my house. Thanks for sharing!!

that looks amazing, great job. so much interest added to that little spot that would have otherwise gone un-noticed. great tip about the tape too.

Ha ha, that pregnant part made me laugh.
Love your new grouping. I just tried that tape trick a few weeks ago and I am loving it. For the first time all my photos hang straight. Yay!
Thanks for linking to my party. :)
