Vintage Christmas Decor

above images: Country Living

As we zipped along Interstate 95 through Georgia, yesterday, I managed to convince my husband to take the Savannah exit. Savannah is one of my favorite cities in the entire world. (more about that, tomorrow).

One of my favorite stores in Savannah is
@Home on Broughton Street. They currently have a beautiful vignette of new "vintage" Christmas items. Take a gander.........

(Prettier in person)

They have a great assortment of glitter cottages, bottlebrush Christmas trees, and tinsel trees. (Their online shop does not appear to be working, right now, but I am sure you can call them and order some vintage Christmas items. 912-201-0015. )

Speaking of Christmas and Christmas decor.......

Here are my typical Christmas-time traits (see if you can identify with me)......

(1) I love Christmastime.

(2) I tend to be overly ambitious during the month of December.

(3) I like to save a penny here and there.

(4) I prefer to give hand made gifts (made by me).

So, it is no surprise that I found these great detailed instructions at http://www.littleglitterhouses.com/ on how to make your own glitter house.

Hmmmm.. I wonder if I have time? (somebody, please stop me!)

Meanwhile, I also found these items .........

MySoCalledJunkyLife.Etsy.com has cute glitter cottages ($18)

This cute glitter cottage is $18 on Etsy -GulfCoastCottage.Etsy.com

Above house: Midwest Seasons of Cannon Falls glitter house. Click here to find a Midwest dealer, near you.

$8 for one pink tree at SaturdayFinds.Etsy.com

$35 set of three trees Brandywine.Etsy.com

The trees also had me thinking.............

Hobby Lobby sells the trainset trees,
and glitter, and glue, and paint. Hmmm....(once again)......

Looks like I'm dreaming of a Vintage Christmas!!!!

Lovely photos. Thanks for sharing (As for overly ambitious this time of year, it must be something in the air that makes us more creative because I know exactly what you mean.) xx

OH MY GOODNESS! I agree... I am always overly ambitious at Christmas, but thats part of the fun. Hot Glue burns, last minute glitter runs and too much eggnog ... wouldn't be Christmas without it. By the way. I think I am going to have to make roof for the pink glittery house in my Christmas Village!

I am liking all those various trees!! As far as the glitter houses go, I would say forget it--I really do not like glitter as it seems to get everywhere!! I don't like glitter on clothing either---we had a large chorus come to preform and the glitter from the clothing was all over the place and bits of it were on peoples faces, etc!! YIKERS...deliver me from glitter.

As far as Savannah--I love that area. We hope to go again for a visit in February or there-abouts! Hope you had a fun time!

I am WAY over ambitious during December and it's because I like to make everything myself. I'm getting a little better about that in that I will buy items handmade by other people now. :)

I recently saved a little green kinda boring bottle brush tree from the garbage...ummm yeah *cough*...and I love look of all those white and glittery ones!
soooo cute the little sparkly houses and trees, love the pastel colors, everything is just so pretty

So cute. It's kind of getting me excited for Christmas.

I was curious how you get prints made? Do you think you could email me?? Just when you get a chance... I know you are traveling right now. Thanks - Becky
