The Back Porch This Summer
Our back porch is a nice haven - a great place to escape for a meal or just a chat.
Our sweet Maggie is certain that the porch is her own special room. That is why she posed for my photos - it is her room, of course!
(I took pictures when it was almost dark, for some reason - so they are a bit grainy.)
Our porch is a bit ECLECTIC - just a hodgepodge or fun items.
And, of course, a little bit of art.
I painted this flag when we first bought our home 11 years ago - we replaced a picket fence and I painted part of the fence.
The banners I made to sell in my booth, but they didn't, so we are enjoying them, now!
My sweet potato vine is thriving in the summer heat.
Maggie - not so much.

One of the perks to living in a really old house is the 'dirt discoveries' we often make. Horseshoes are on that list of things we run across from time to time. Here is one filling up with all the good luck that floats by!
Plants on a porch are as necessary as the furniture.
Do you see my Annabelle hydrangeas?
Btw-just ignore the brown patch in the backyard - I killed the grass to reveal the brick patio underneath and still need to remove the dead grass! (Our neighbors were "pals" with the City and were allowed to build their guest cottage and office too close to the property line - can you tell?)
Ahhhh....... summer! Love it!

I don't have a porch so enjoying yours vicariously is a treat!
I love what you did with the fencing boards and I am really surprised the banners didn't sell!
Give Maggie a big hug for me and enjoy that lovely space.

Your pup Maggie gives it the seal of approval and that counts of a bunch in our house, too. :)
