Drop-Cloth Napkin Tutorial
I washed a few dropcloths to use in my den for curtains,
but then the dog needed a new bed when it got chilly out....
So I used part of a drop cloth and filled it with cedar chips from Wal-Mart (much cheaper than buying her a bed - she is a lab - quite large)....
which left me with some drop cloth material.
So I made these napkins....
The drop cloth is quite soft, actually - once it has been bleached and washed.
I used:
Drop cloths
embroidery thread
embroidery hoop
1) I cut the drop cloths about 12"x18".
2) Then hemmed the edges....
3) Then embroidered each one in roughly the same area...
I didn't use a pattern, they are whimsical and do not have to match.
4) I also used a little fabric glue on the back to hold the threads after several washings.
I hope the family likes them!
Have a nice day!
