Flea Market Observations and Regrets
My recent trip to the beach included visiting several flea markets and junk stores.
There were many cute items I could have used if my pocketbook were bigger - and if my creativity would hit while I am actually in the store.
I keep seeing really cute vintage mirrors..... And lots of cake stands .....and bottles.... And vintage purses/clutches...... And plenty of inexpensive dressers..... and chairs begging for paint.
My middle daughter even volunteered to hold a vintage metal stool in her lap on the five hour drive back to Georgia. But, I refrained from buying the stools (there were two of them) -I know my husband was thankful. (Where are the great pictures from my excursions? - Well, the family is down to one working camera and my husband needed the camera to photograph all the non-existent big fish he caught with the nephews).
Once I got home, I started shopping through the pages of Coastal Living- looking for cute ideas that I can hopefully remember WHILE I am in the store during my next flea market venture. Here are some fun ideas.
I've noticed that there is an imaginary "fine line" between using flea market finds and making your home look like a flea market.
I would love an old bird cage - without a bird - but cannot find a way to convince my husband it has a purpose. (and isn't that vintage chair cute?)
And if I ever run across these chairs or this bed - surely I will have the sense to buy them!....
Our family loves globes and maps....
I have to refrain from buying too many.
This next photo is very shabby chic with lots of ideas ....
I need to find a place for a chandelier.
These antique chairs are adorable yellow - but would probably make an antiques dealer cringe....
Love the pendant fixture and retro table, too!
Here is another painted antique. The legs on this table are perfect...
And another map - simply framed.
There are PLENTY of glass bottles to be found in junk stores....
Grouping them is key.
Here is another set of grouped bottles....
I used to see lots of tubs like this one....
But have not seen any, lately - I should have grabbed one long ago.
Here is another chandelier and more mirrors....
Such a peaceful look.
Hope you enjoyed my flea market tour through Coastal Living!
Have a great day!

Sorry you didn't have room for all your goodies. Next time, how about the car roof! LOL

I just found something very cool, I just may have to post about it.
Have a great day!
Globes are just cool. I finally bought one last year, but I'm thinking they look better in a group. Maybe I need some more:)Great inspiration.
I too love globes!!! I have been staying out of store of late.
I really don't need anything, but boy there are a few things I would love to have!!!!
I so understand you statement about using flea market items, and looking like a flea market - it is a fine line isn't it!!! :)
