Bear Much Fruit

Here are my paintings for Day 27 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge.

 10"x10"

12"x12"

They are not the same painting, but were painted at the same time with the same color palette and same muse. Here is a photo shortly after I started the two paintings:

And another picture after I filled in the background....

And then I painted the leaves...

This was my original inspiration photo I found on Pinterest....

May we all seek to "bear much fruit" in this crazy world where we have been planted. Without God on our side, we "can do nothing" of any value in His kingdom.

John 15:1-8
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

A few verses after these, we are called to "love one another" and also remember that the world hated Jesus, first. We are not alone in our daily battles.John reminds us that it can be difficult to remember that we are not to be like the world, but should desire to be filled with Jesus and His word.

And, that is your bible lesson for today! Go and bear much fruit!
