Staging the House

I spent this past week cleaning out my mom's attic, closets, cupboards, and drawers. No fun. We miss her, dearly. We had a successful yard sale and placed her home on the market to sell. Hopefully it will sell quickly.

I clipped some of my Annabelle hydrangeas and placed them in her bathroom.

The realtors suggested adding a rug to her bathroom.

I found that one on Craigslist for $50 - just the right size with the right amount of green to compliment her bedroom. I checked to make sure the owners were non-smokers, too -just a helpful hint for 'ya.  (I also wanted to ask if they were part of ISIS, but took my 15 year old son with me for protection, instead of quizzing them on their beheading beliefs.)

A quick trip to Target provided this cute door mat .....

Much more up to date than the old one.

And I bought these roses at TJMaxx ....

They are prettier in person.  I am not a fake flower buyer, therefore, you KNOW these roses must be attractive, if I purchased them!

The worst part of all of this is that I know my mom would have loved the updates.
That's life.

Trish, I am so sorry that you have lost your Mom. It's such a painful life altering loss. My heart aches for you.
Your Moms house is beautiful.
Trish-
I'm so sorry for you loss-- I can't keep up, did you post about this?
Either way, I was surprised to read it.
I did chuckle at your ISIS questioning...hadn't heard anything about ISIS related to CL's...and was wondering if you 15 yr. old son, is prepared to combat such issue. Does he know how much you responsibility he has when going CL shopping with mom?! LOL...Oh!the pressure. ;)
Your mom's home looks lovely with the flowers and soft touches. I'm sure she would like all the changes.

Hope is sells quickly for you...
Have a great day.
Prayers in the loss of your Mom....mine is aging way too fast. The updates are lovely! HOPE you have an awesome day.
It's lovely. I'm sure your Mom would agree. :) I'm so sorry for your loss. I truly understand.

You did a good job with the staging...it looks great. I wouldn't have a clue how to do all that. And I am not surprised at all to see what lovely taste/style your mama had in her home. Classy...just like her! Glad the garage sale went well, but so sorry for the reason. Y'all are still in my heart!

My husband and I just went thru the same thing. No fun. We were fortunate to rent to my son since my Mother in Law passed away in 2007. He and his wife bought a new home so it had to go on the market...Just remember it's just a house....the wonderful memories made there remain in your heart..
Cudos on the staging - your mom would love it. So sorry you've lost your mom. We just got word Tuesday that my mom has less than a year - heart issues. She's lived with us for over 13 years, so we'll not have a house to sell, but she has a ton of stuff to figure out what to do with. Blessings and healing to you, Trish.
