My Failed Project
I saw this cute pillow on Etsy, last week and decided just to make it myself.
I was a great blogger, too.
I took photos for each step of my cute project.
And then the project was a huge BUST.
A major FAIL. And I have the photos to show you how NOT to create this pillow.
I used contact paper to make my bunny sillhouette. And I bought some really cute pink burlap at Hancock's (on sale) last week.
I spray painted and made sure my contact paper was very, very secure so that no paint would run under the sticky paper.
But I was left with this blob of a bunny. I tried cleaning him up a little with brown paint and some pink paint to cover the not-so-crisp edges of the bunny.
BLOB.
Trying to correct the blob was like putting lipstick on a pig. So this project hit the trashcan.
The paint was apparently absorbed by the fabric and ran, anyway, no matter how tightly I had the contact paper adhered. Any tips on how to keep the fabric from wicking the paint along each strand?
It was like a Bounty commercial- the paint was just soaked up by the rest of the fabric.
After that disaster, I managed to whip up a few pillows, though, with some scrap fabrics I had in my craft closet - plus some of the pink burlap.
No bunnies.
My green pillows are left over from Christmas. They are a nice shade of green and can be used all year.
Spring is here and it feels wonderful!
