Pinterest Procrastination Party
I have a bazillion ideas from Pinterest that I just need to START.
I work best with a deadline.
A deadline can trump procrastination - most of the time.
After seeing this pin....
Such a great idea - and very easy.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial for this simple project:
(1) Buy a roller shade. You know - the old-fashioned pull-down type that looks like a tubular fluorescent bulb. The home design stores will cut it the right width for you at no extra charge. And another bonus - they are fairly inexpensive.
(2) Buy the fabric and cut it about 2" wider than the shade.
(Make sure it is long enough to cover the window when pulled down.
I had a short window, so I only used about a yard and a half.)
that I found at the check out counter at Hancock Fabrics. Which is also where I bought this fun indoor/outdoor fabric 50% off...
(4) Just fold the fabric over the edges of the blind and glue to the shade.
(5) Let dry. D-O-N-E.
(6) Go hang it when your husband is gone so that no one can harass you about stripping the screw with the cordless drill.
This project took NO TIME - and I mean it was super-easy!
My mom and I have been busy renovating one of her old rental properties - another story for another day - and the kitchen looks a WHOLE LOT better, now
Doesn't the shade make the room POP?!!!
(I will share the rest of our rental house makeover, soon. I promise!)

I love the fabric you chose and it compliments the new wall color so well!
The kitchen looks fantastic. Ready to have the nickle tour.
