Gray does Not Always Mean 'Gloomy'

There is so much I need to do, today.

So, I think I'll glance at Traditional Home magazine, instead.

Hmmmm....  Wonder why I can't seem to get anything done around here?!!

I am still enjoying my gray living room, and seem to be gravitating towards other shades of gray, as well.

I love this bedroom in Traditional Home, but would not be able to convince my husband that he can live with the panels on the bed.

The panels add "drama" to this room, but, in my opinion, really just serve as a frame for the scalloped pillows and hydrangea painting.  Or is that just me - and my fetish for hydrangea paintings and scalloped things?  I had to look at this photo for a bit before I noticed the gorgeous floors, gold mirror, cute bedside sconces, and tufted bench.  All I could see was the hydrangea painting and scalloped pillows.  Love is blind.

Here are more photos from the same Texas home....

I love the blues that don't match and the deep gray trim.

Natural light is just the "key" to a pretty room.  But as an owner of windows, myself, I don't know how one ever keeps so many upper windows clean.

I am guessing the photographer was a man - since the television was left "on" for the photo shoot.

Here is the same room from another angle ...

How awesome would those barn doors be for corraling teenagers into their own area?!!    And right next to the kitchen, which is essential for sleepovers and movie-watching.

Did you notice the brick floor?

Here is the same deep gray trim paint ...

This time it is used on the cute pantry door.
I just looked at the Traditional Home article again - the deep gray is "Dolphin" by Benjamin Moore.

I am eyeing that butler's pantry/built in cabinet area to the far right of the photo.  Wish I could see that area, better.

And the dining room....

With more scallops and more sunlight.   How pleasant.

Okay - off to clean and paint.

Enjoy your day!

All the rooms are so pretty. I just love the gray. Thanks for sharing the name of the paint on the pantry door. I'm thinking of painting my island a gray.
So many beautiful examples of gray done right!
