From Kelly Green to Wickham Gray

My favorite "re-do" this year was my living room.

I love color.
and loved the green,
10 long years ago....

(I sold the curtains to a friend - they look great in one of her yellow/gold rooms!)

The new gray took a while and we spent a month looking at this .....

While I waited on my helper to trim out the very tip-top on our too-short ladder....

It was worth the wait!

The rug is just an old office rug from my husband's last office - not my favorite.

And, I need to hang a few pictures....

Plus - I have not done anything about curtains, just yet - but showed you a few of my ideas here.

Not quite complete - but we are thrilled with the new look!

P.S.Happy New Year
Trish, I love the new paint color in there. I am in the process right now of neutralizing a room. It just hit me a couple of days ago that I don't like the color in this particular room. If the bug bites me I go with it. Happy New Year, I look forward to more posts in 2011.
Wow, it's so amazing what paint can do to a room. I love the colour you chose... very calming!

What a dramatic change! I have to admit, I love that color green, but the gray has given the room such a soft elegant transformation....

Hi, I found your blog over at My Romantic Home. I love your room makeover. I used to have my livingroom decorated in red, yellow and green and now it's light and neutral and feels more relaxed. I would love it if you linked this to my new link party-Masterpiece Monday, at my blog, Boogieboard Cottage. The link will be up Sunday.
Take care, Mary :O)
Ever so lovely....the green you now own really pops with your new paint color. I also have to say...I LOVE you white bowls. I have 1, but would love one fluted. SO cute!

Cheers~

Oh MY!!! I hadn't seen your furnished 'after' photos before now. I can't believe how the whole feel of your living room has changed! What a restful place it is. Great work ... and your gold couch is to . die . for.
Amazing how the flowers seem to match your sofa. Great choice on the gray (just painted a bathroom a similar color with white wainscoting). Fun to use your father's fabric on the sofa as a starting point...important to have sentimental elements, I think.

The new color is fabulous, fabulous. So sophisticated and subtle. It's interesting to see the sea change and I'm wondering what took you from that particular green to gray. Will look forward to seeing more as it progresses (though I don't think it needs much more). Jane
i love the new color and look of the room- it makes the sofa more of a standout now, which is awesome!
The gray is so soothing and calm.... compliments your furniture beautifully.

I would be honored to have you add it to my blog party

Wow, what a difference in your room, it looks like a whole new space! I was a little nervous about your helper up there, I think you need a longer ladder!

Trish, thanks for linking this up this week. Looks like you and I both went from color to neutral. Love it.
The room has very elegant architecture and the gray looks wonderful! I have 4 rooms of my house painted gray and am thinking of doing more. It makes such a great backdrop. Great job!

The color of gray is lovely. I'm debating on gray for my bedroom. It really expands your room.

Great color!!! I love how this room changed! Thanks for sharing over at the paint party!
Perfect. The color is fresh, soothing and really the best part is that is works well with EVERYTHING. You can switch out 'pop' colors and accessories, just beautiful!

I forgot your birthday another year...we have to go for lunch sometime before the month runs out. And Rob sacrificed life and limb for the paint job. I'm impressed.
