A Peek at My Gray Room

Quite a while ago I mentioned that I was painting my front living room Wickham Gray.

I decided to use soft yellow/gold accents,

since I inherited this sofa from my grandparents. ....

(My grandad was the manager of the mills that produced this fabric.)

Even my hydrangeas participated and gave off a tint of soft yellow when they dried...

And I have been saving these yard-sale frames for the right painting....

And the Target table has been hiding in various corners of our home for about 10 years.

I'll let you see the rest of the room once I buy the fabric for the curtains and get around to sewing!
I am trying to choose between

Annie Selke "Scramble" in Slate - which I cannot find a sample of ANYWHERE

or maybe....

"Buttercup" by WaverlyThis fabric may be too "yellow" - I don't have a swatch of it yet, either.
Any fabric ideas?

Here are some gray/yellow/gold inspirational photos I've been using for my living room that you might enjoy eyeing ....

Love the gray and golds together. Never thought of that combination. Don't know about any fabric choices, but I love the ones you showed. You could do a large band in a solid in the opposite color on the bottom. Like if you use the gray do a gold band or if you use the gold/yellow do a deep gray or charcoal band. That would be really pretty.
Beautiful, very serene and elegant. Janell

Joann's has the Annie Selke fabrics in their special order section. I've seen a damask pattern with these two colors together. They are 50% off this week too. I Love! the combination and had thought to use it myself.
I actually bought the first fabric you posted in blue and white for my keeping room pillows.
Your room is going to be lovely.

Your room is looking great, and love the sofa.

I think I am leaning towards the gold for curtains, seems a bit warmer to me against the walls. Then you could use tarnished silver and pewter accents.

I love your colors and love how it's turning out... can't wait to see the curtains. have you looked at L and S fabrics online? They have a pretty grey links in their small scale patterns that I love... it might go well with your room too! Good luck!

Your living room is stunning and to think that your grandfather had a hand in the fabric on the sofa. I love that you used yellow with gray and wish you could find the gray fabric for the window treatments. Can't wait to see how it all works out.

The gray and gold looks so elegant together! And I love that you have that sofa from your grandfather. What a special piece of furniture. The hydrangeas are gorgeous, too!
Thats just what I've done in my home!!! I went from paprika red to a lovely soft grey and I am also using gentle butter yellow shades as an accent. It is so calming...I love it!

gray is so in right now. the gold looks amazing with it!
I love the gray/gold color combo you've selected, very sophisticated. And how cool about the sofa and your grandfather! There are so many fabrics out there to choose from, I could almost see something with a light background and then a really cool floral or vine pattern though!

Kat :)
The gold against the gray is so beautiful! I love the fabrics too!

LOVE the ivory-gray-citrine combo. Its very chic. Love that sofa.
Love the grey with the gold. If you go with the golden fabric, you could paint your walls a soft grey. Either way, it'll look pretty since you have a flair for making your room look nice. Thanks for sharing.
i love that sofa- certainly a piece worth decorating the whole room around! and gray mixes so nicely with it and updates it.
