Re-Lighting Up My Life

Last week, I made the mistake of running into TJMaxx just to look around.
Yikes.
Two new lamps jumped into my hands

This one was only $12.

How could I put it down?

Here is the "before".....

And the "after".....

green lamp

I like it, but am afraid the green is too "matchy" next to the painting.  What do you think?

And here is a new lamp for my hall buffet.

How cute is that!  The stuck-in-1990 Mr. Post Road just sighed when he saw it.

I had the old one for 10 years.  It more than paid for itself! ...right?

And now it has a new life in my bedroom, where I needed a lamp, anyway.....

I plan to stay out of TJMaxx for a little while.
Have a great day!

I love both those lamps! I always find at least one that I want when I go to TJMaxx.

If you're worried about the green one there, have you thought about moving it to the white book shelves in that picture? I think it looks fine where it is, but it might be cute there, too.

I like them both where they are, next to the paintings. They bring out the color. Good finds!

great lamps! I NEVER find lamps for $12. I am jealous!
Stuff does seem to just jump in your arms or cart there doesn't it. I love your new lamps. What a deal on that green one. I kind of like the lamp picking up on the same color in the picture. My husband thinks things should just remain the same forever, too. He rolls his eyes all the time.

I like the green with the green...and the other one looks great also.

Mr. 1990 is a mighty fine man...a wonderful flower digger-upper!

Blessings,
Betty

I like them both alot. The green looks great there...and no it is not too matchy - but I am a matchy kind of person.

I think both new lamps look really good in their new homes!

Your lamps are perfect in the places that you have chosen to place them. I really like the green lamp with the green in the painting. Looks very pretty.

I love the green one right where it is... but the blue one - well I think it would be happier in my living room. It's the perfect shade of blue.
Love your entry! :) Love your blog. I just started one that I think you'll love too. Please stop by. Ms. CotedeVelvetGreige! :)

Lamps imitate Art!! We are smitten with shopping envy-- the art of the steal is always a favorite topic. Thanks for the post,

I too mad the same mistake last Saturday of going into TJ Maxx and found all kinds of things that I "needed". I love the green lamp with the orange painting. You might slide the chest over to the left some - line the edge of the chest up with the right edge of the painting and then the lamp wouldn't block the painting. Just a thought. They look great together.
I am new here! And I actually love the green lamp next to the green in the painting! Makes it POP right out at ya!
That green lamp is fantastic - might have to go take a peek through TJMaxx!
Hah -pretty funny. I love the green together! You need to paint for yourself and us too - love your work!

I love your quandary! It is so much of what I would do. Move it from one place to the next. Forget if it is too matchy-matchy. Do whatever gives you a good feeling every time you walk by!

The game of musical lamps has gone very well. I definitely like the green next to the painting -- it coordinates the color. They all do, which is great to see.

Good news! We're staring a Friday Giveaway link-up party this Fri. 8/27 plus we are giving away custom backsplash! Please join us. Jane F.
