Pink and Turquoise

My daughters share a bedroom.

A very pink bedroom.

With white furniture that needs to be painted......

I suggested we try a shade of blue or turquoise on their dressers, but they think I am crazy.

Here are their curtains.......

And their bed linens........

Here are some color scheme ideas I found (remember, I am KEEPING the pink walls, -just looking for accent colors).......

Then I remembered a couple of my paintings where I used blue and pink, together........

Wow!! I am excited about painting the furniture blue!  Now I just have to find the right shade.  Hmmm.  Any suggestions?  I would prefer something I could purchase at Lowe's.  Since we are in a rural area, any other paint brand requires a one hour round-trip drive.

Thanks!

I love those photos, especially the one with the pink dresser in between the beds. I think bringing in aqua would be gorgeous with some yellow thrown in.

I would find something maybe that you already have that is the shade you like (like maybe a piece of fabric or pillow)and take it with you. You can have it color matched. I would just make sure you stay away from sky blue and lean more towards the aqua.

Hello sweet Trish - I love your ideas for the bedroom! Pink and blue would be so perfect. Your inspiration photos are fabulous! I too was on the hunt for a great turquoise shade. I found one that I like - Brilliant Sea by Behr. I first spotted it on Rebecca's blog This Present Life. She used that color on her headboard. Here's the link:

What ever you end up doing will be fabulous! Can't wait to see it.

No suggestions, but an interesting post!
What a great color combo, it's going to look wonderful!

How about Martha Stewart's Watering Can? Or Behr's Aqua Breeze?
