Las Lajas Cathedral
Here is a little info on the church pictured in my Sunday post.
Las Lajas Cathedral is located in a remote area of Columbia (South America). The gothic-revival or neo-gothic church was constructed between 1915-1949 along the Guaitara River gorge. The cathedral was built in a location where a local girl saw an image in the cave, hence the rural and steep location.
If you saw the main portion of this church in the middle of a city or town, the church would seem like quite a "normal" cathedral. The precarious and rural location is what makes this church so very spectacular - the sheer height of the river canyon and this magnificent building constructed seemingly in the middle of nowhere makes this church absolutely amazing.

This cathedral is located near the town of Las Lajas, Colombia - very close to the border with Ecuador. I could not find any information on the architect (probably because I do not read spanish).
