My Mantels

The Nester is having a Mantel Party today.

I am quite fortunate and have four mantels in my house (the perks of an 1860's home).

My accessories are nothing special.

Here is the mantel in my dining room.....

Found the old mirror at a flea market near Orlando before I was married ....

(BTW -The hydrangeas in my back yard have leaves, already - yipee!! - not long before I have blooms!)

And here is the mantel in my bedroom..........

Just an assortment of floral art (mostly) that needs to be dusted more often than it is.
(where is that maid I ordered, anyway?
-oh, yeah, she's busy blogging.)

And, the mantel in the playroom..........

Is off-limits. You will never visit me again if I let you see that room.

This last mantel is in the living room-slash-piano room-slash-home office..........

I just noticed that I used white urns on every mantel. b-o-r-i-n-g.

I am tired of the green in the living room - we painted about 9 years ago.

I am thinking of going with a gray.

Another thing about this room- I think some former owners updated the tile around the fireplace in the mid-70's - see how it looks like bathroom tile? That tile is yet another project for another day. The Duncan Phyfe sofa was my grandparents'. My grandad managed the textile mill that made the fabric (how do you justify getting rid of that family heirloom?)

And here is a close-up of my daughter's portrait - How I wish I could paint like this!

Hi Trish, I live in an old home too. It was built in 1850 and it has four fireplaces as well. :) I love the floral paintings on the one in your bedroom.

I like your mantels and that green paint in the living room is gorgeous! (I can understand if you get bored of it, tho. I am always changing colors at my house)
I love the green paint! It looks so fresh and spirited. I would love to have even one fireplace and mantel in my house. Yours are both beautiful.

I passed on a SUNSHINE AWARD to you today over on my blog. Truly, you and your creations have blessed me so and they always make my heart happy.
Thank you for that.

You have beautiful mantels. Loved your art worked displayed:) I always think of you with your hydrangeas. I wish our fireplace was a focal point like that. Someday we'll have to redo that area in our house:)
Hi! I am like the others, I like the green paint in the living room! Very fresh! I agree w/you on the tile though, my fireplace, has granite tiles that are 12 by 12 w/greys and browns ect...Not all of them are 12x12 though as the sides were cut smaller. I am always seeing granite tiles on clearance from time to time at Lowes. Keep your eyes open, I bet it wouldn't take many tiles to replace yours, just a little D.I.Y. LOL! You are very lucky to have so many fireplaces though!

Oh my goodness, four mantels, I have trouble enough getting one tweaked the way I like it. I adore your daughter's portrait.

I looked at your post because of the green walls :) That's what I have too! Grey is good too... I guess you're allowed to change.
That portrait of your daughter is so beautiful. You are very lucky to live in an old house with 4 fireplaces. They all look wonderful.
