Before and After Kitchen -$6000

Who doesn't LOVE a remodel done within a REAL budget?

Here is a great kitchen remodel featured at This Old House.

First, the treacherous BEFORE photos......

And here is the metamorphosis............

The existing cabinets were painted white. They found used Bosche and Viking appliances on Craigs List, granite countertops at Costco, and tiled the backsplash themselves.
The owners also obtained their ebonized bamboo flooring from a local job site (no-they did not steal it- they asked for the leftovers at a reduced price).

Here is a link to show how they shifted the space - relocating cabinets, etc.

That really worked out. I especially this as a nice sized kitchen for normal folks, not what we're used to seeing in the magazines. Thanks.

Beautiful.
The tile is gorgeous, and they installed it perfectly! My husband and I install tile so I know how hard it is.

did you happen to figure out your curtains? or are you possibly going to talk about your bedroom soon? i'm still at a loss at what to do. . .especially since we have a piece of red distressed furniture in there. . .but. . .red looks good with green!
