Craft Room

My craft room/art studio is in dire straits.
And "no" you cannot see that room, right now.
(If I take a photo of the room without "after" photos, then you will know how we are living around here. Which is not such a big deal, IF there are "after" photos to show that the situation has been remedied.)

I found some inspirational photos to get me started........

Country Living

Places to put "stuff" is crucial. This is an old tobacco display ......

Country Living

Here is one cute way to hold collections..........

In this next photo, the splash of color (art) along the top is fun, along with that old piece of funiture.

Country Living

Speaking of "color"..........

Allsorts

Wowwee!!

More large furniture pieces........

Heather Bailey

this is Heather Bailey's craft studio (above and below).

A chandelier would probably pull my room together quite nicely............

Better Homes and Gardens

(And maybe if I organized the closet, rather than just "stuffing it" in there!)

Better Homes and Gardens

Cute lamp shades, bright colors, neat stacks...........

Better Homes and Gardens

(I think that room may be my favorite!)

See-through containers are "key."

Better Homes and Gardens

Need lots and lots of containers.........

Better Homes and Gardens

These are soup cans..........

A peg board seems like an easy way to organize.

Better Homes and Gardens

And paint it a cute color - like this green - how fun!

Better Homes and Gardens

Yes, I know this is not a craft room...........

But, I just adore how they used that doll house!

Hope I can share some "after" pictures, soon!

Great rooms. I have a desk similiar to the first photo and have never thought about extending the top. Lots of great storage ideas too especially being able to see what you have.
Thank you so much for posting this! I have a plan to tackle our pantry/laundry/place-for-things-that-have-no-place room this year and turn it into CREATIVITY CENTRAL. HUGE undertaking, mostly due to the amount of crapola in there ;-) I too could never post before photos without having the afters ready to go! So, again, thanks for doing some of the legwork in finding these great photos. And, best wishes on your project!

Great inspiration photos. I had all the IKEA metal buckets on the black metal hangers in picture 13, 10 of them plus other pieces of the collection too, but I was never happy with it for some reason. I sold it a few months ago, but everytime I see that picture, I wonder if I made a mistake.
I just did a post the other day on my hobby room 'before'. I painted this weekend and added beadboard wallpaper to the cabinet ends. Lots more to do still. The finishing touches will be the hard decisions for me.
Great photos and they are all so neat! Good thing I'm not very crafty, I don't think I could keep a craft room looking very tidy, but maybe with the inspiration of those rooms I could try!

I am very suspicious of craft rooms that are too neat! Clutter happens when you are being creative.

I'm with Porch Days. A craft room staged for the camera - Hah.

I made a pickup today from a lady who makes jewelry. Her workroom is a bit - well - busy and so is she. She greeted me at the door with giant magnifying lenses on her forehead and a wild look in her eye as if I'd interupted a masterpiece. Every inch of the space was somewhere between perfectly organized and a gaping void of chaos. I stepped carefully. That room rocked.

Wow!!! I love them all. Makes my humble abode look very unstylish. I just ordered one of those silver wire 3 tier organizers. Don't have it just yet, but I loved it in those pics:)

I have been saving Craft Room inspiration photos too!! I also love Cathe Holden's craft room (her blog is "Just Something I Made").

Here's a link to her flickr page with all of the craft room photos.

So inspired...so overwhelmed by the yawning abyss that is my basement! Can't wait to see your after pics!
Wow! Those art studio pictures are so inspiring. I pray I get one for myself someday. Right now I only have room to pull all of my supplies out of a dresser drawer in the guest bedroom. I cannot wait to see your studio pictures when you are ready to show us.

My studio makes me so depressed... it's always a mess, there is never enough light.. blah blah blah... I wish it was as neat and organized as these photographs... but I wonder if a really creative person can ever be that organized... or at least that's what I say to myself to make myself feel better
WOW. I am SOOOO inspired to get to work on my office now. If only we weren't in the middle of re-doing the guest bathroom! <:-(

Thank you for putting together such a great post!

Layla :-)
Thanks soooo much for the eye candy...I have working on a makeover for my home office today...it has really been a lot of FUN!!!

Blessings,

The white (redo?)hutch SO reminds me of my own craft room where my hutch now proudly sits and holds many sewing ,craft items etc . Had to laugh when I showed my DH and said "look honey here's someone that had the same idea !" twenty years ago mine was unfinished new that I stained etc.and it was in my breakfast room .cant decide if someday it will transform into "shabby chic "
