Everyone Loves 'Before and After' Pics

It takes quite the "old-house-lover" to tackle a project like this........

But, WOW! What a great house! (now) ...................

Right down to the beautiful roses along the wrought iron fence. And I think I see cobbletones. I KNOW I see fresh paint.

This Second Empire home was built in 1895 and is located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Now, to the inside -
The front hall (obviously this is a BEFORE picture)..........

After..........

The beautiful wood beneath that painted white door is now FREEEEE! And the black paint on the stair rail and newel post - GONE! And where was that beautiful wooden floor, before? Must have been hidden. I also like that cute choice for a chandelier.

Here is another detail I really like. This beautiful door knob is on the front door.

Okay - two more homes. This next section I am entitling

"The Power of COLOR."

Before........

After..........

Last one! -BEFORE............

Ta-Da! After.............

All of the above "before and after" pictures can be found at This Old House.

Wow amazing transformation!! Love the victorian, the door is amazing and so is the hardware!
Isn't it amazing what a little love and paint can do?

I'm a sucker for any home with a Mansard roof like the home in the first photo. The restored door hardware is positively stunning.

That first place is amazing! And that doorknob - such gorgeous detail in such a little functional thing. Don't see detail like that in today's homes.

I love to see houses get fixed up! (I'm addicted to that show Curb Appeal)
