Still Dreaming of Mountain Cabins

This is a repost I am including in Design Ties Rewind Wednesday Blog Party!
Go visit the other re-posts, once you read this one!

I am currently 'hooked on' mountain cabins! Saw this beautiful 38 acre property in Architectural Digest at the dentist's office, today.

This little cabin is the guest cottage (photos above and below). This cabin only has two rooms, but all five of the log cabins on the private property total 12,000 sf.

There is also a main home - look at the walls of this bedroom!

Their builder salvaged old, hand-hewn beams from old log barns.

And, finally - the kitchen.

I am amazed at how the stainless steel counters look with the rest of the 'cabin.' They do not appear industrial, at all - but fit perfectly next to the old worn wood on the walls, cabinets, and plate rack.
hmmm......

Wow! I'm hooked on them too. I'm actually in the market for a cabin and the setting of this one is just killing me, it's so gorgeous. It's such a nice surprise how luxurious it is on the inside and so rustic on the outside. I'm going to have to file this one away. Thanks for sharing it. Have a great weekend!

I love seeing mountain cabins that are decorated so elegantly!

My mother in law has a mountain cabin that is very basic and very rustic, and we love to visit it during the summer. It is like roughing it, but with indoor plumbing!

What a fantastic, beautiful cabin!! My husband and I spent a few days of our honeymoon in a terrific cabin... so romantic!! BUT as lovely as our cabin was, it was NOTHING like the one you're sharing today!! Love it! Maybe I need a second honeymoon! ;-)

Thanks for re-playing along with Rewind Wednesday!! Hope you'll join us again next week, too!

The little cabin is so rustic and charming :-)

And that bedroom... wow!! I don't think I'd ever be able to get out of bed in the morning, I'd want to stay snuggled up in that cozy room all day!!

The ceilings are fabulous -- well worth the effort of salvaging the old barn logs.

And I agree, the combination of rough wood and stainless steel in the kitchen looks fantastic. I love combining new and old elements :-)

Victoria beat me to it, but thank you again for participating in Rewind Wednesday :-)
