New Birthday Week Tradition

We have a new Birthday Tradition in our home. When my kids come down the stairs on Birthday Morning, they are greeted by this new Birthday Banner! (That way, I don't have to get out of bed. JUST KIDDING!)

I saw instructions for this cute birthday banner on the Moda Bakeshop website and sewed one with my scrap fabrics.

(excuse the photography skills, or lack there-of)

The non-planner that I am managed to deliver both of my girls the first week of May. (My son's birthday is not until the end of May.)

Here are the Birthday Girls. One daughter is now 13 and the other is 16.

We have always smugly said "You have to be 16 to date."
Why did we think 16 would never get here?
(It sure seemed really far off, when she was 4.)

Plus, I am not even old enough to have a 16 year old. ....
........Right?

What do you mean 16? 25 is minimum dating age for daughters. Of course my daughters started dating a little earlier than that, but I didn't like it. Not one bit. Now they bring their boyfriends over for dinner. I used to hate all boyfriends. Now I pull out all the stops when they come for dinner: Tater Tots.
Very nice. But were you really kidding. Isn't there just a little bit of truth in every joke? Hi, hi.

This is a great idea, my Mom used to do a similar thing for us. When we came home from school on our birthdays she would have the dining room table all decorated with streamers and balloons. Made us feel super special!!

you inspire me! After I finish the baby quilt, I will attempt one of these. I always have big ideas and no time to do it. Maybe if I'd get off the computer...

Hi, I found your blog through another. I, too, have a 16(ds) and never thought it would happen. Luckily he doesn't have an interest yet(or at least no girls of interest yet :) ) so we're happy. Beautiful girls, by the way.
