Lately

Well, I am JUST about to get back into the swing of things after Christmas break.
Finally.
Here are some little things I have been working on around my home.....

I have been thrifting - just a little - and found that silver teapot (above) for $15.  It fits in well with some of my mercury glass.  (Or more like - fits in well for now, until it needs to be polished.)

I am also back to couponing......

I took a little hiatus over Christmas - I did not have enough time.

And, I finally found a notecard printing company that I like!

I love the texture of these notecards - very much suitable for framing.

Speaking of my art and framing, here is an 8"x10" giclee print in a frame as a baby gift.....

I have several baby gifts I need to wrap and deliver.

I actually use a Wal-Mart frame (gasp).

$13 - but it is a nice quality frame with layered mats.  ($25 for two online here)

Here are some modge-podged letters in progress....

I found this beautiful paper (that is actually much more colorful than the photo depicts!) and need to finish these, soon.

My husband and I spent a little time wandering 'off the beaten path' this past week....

We need to write a book entitled 'Historic Buildings Down Dirt Roads' or something similar- just to give us an excuse for our wanderings.

If you are a nerd, like me, (and have an extra twelve minutes) you might enjoy this video about how the Brick Store was constructed back in the 1820's....

Hope you are having an interesting and productive January!

love the brick store. There is a photographer who travels around Ireland taking pictures of abandoned old ruins of houses and castles etc. He wanders too. ;) I love that kind of stuff, maybe you should write that book for Georgia!

LOVE your new header on your blog! Like all your art its so cute.
Your mercury glass and silver collection looks wonderful, it makes me want to go dig out my old silver and polish it a bit.
And I admire you for couponing!

New to your blog but felt a kindred spirit right away, lol. My grandaddy was a wonder at taking the 'longcut' home so we wandered many and many a dirt road, old state highway, county road etc and I acquired the habit. My fantasy life includes going down every single road in Georgia and photograph lovely little old abandoned houses, country churches and record a bit of their history. It would be a massive undertaking to be sure but a girl can dream...
