Is a Frame Necessary?
The oh-so-very-smart Donna at Funky Junk Interiors featured one of my paintings she has in her home. It was part of her post on Color.....
Her creative "framing" idea got me thinking....
hmmmm.....
How could I "frame" some of my other art?
I remembered my cloche/candle glass that has been hidden for a while.....
I just popped a little Carolina Wren watercolor that won't sell on Etsy behind the sticks and acorns. He is right at home!
And then I recalled framing several pages from an old Madeline book the girls had when they were young.....
Just laid it flat on a piece of uncut mat and framed it easy-as-pie. I guess that is not really an unusual frame - just a different sort of art - like the Sunday School posters I framed here.
With my canvas boards, I typically just place the unframed canvas boards on an easel....
The paintings don't seem to mind not having a 'real' frame!
Donna has my wheels are turning - hopefully some of my other art will find a creative frame, soon!
Have a great day!

Great minds think alike I guess, lol. Recently I have also been looking for different ways to frame my art and old photos and I have an old wooden Pepsi delivery box I was thinking of using!
I have never been a huge fan of the frameless canvas, I think they look unfinished (just my opinion)maybe because I love frames. Thanks for showing that great photo of what it might look like if I go with that idea!

How cool to see 'my artwork' over here! :)
It isn't hard to make your work look wonderful. I smile everytime I walk into that room. It's the only piece of real art I own!
