Small Blessing and a Peek

Moral of the following story:  God can send sweet little blessings all day long, if your eyes are just open to them.

I started the day ready to prep and paint my daughters' dressers.  As I began sanding the dressers, I recalled in the back corners of my feeble mind that I once had a mouse sander (electric!).   Hmmm...  That was back in the townhouse which was before the subdivision house which was before this historic home we have lived in for a decade.  Did I really have an electric sander 13 years ago?  I couldn't decide if I had maybe dreamed about a sander, or if I really had an electric sander (sort of like when you dream you are rich and then you wake up and actually you have three kids).  I changed out of my pj's and found yesterday's shorts and headed out to the dreadfully disgusting tool shed in my back yard. (Let me give you some insight regarding this shed  - I always knock on the door before I open it to prepare the varmits for my entrance.  There is also a neighborhood cat - Gus - who lives in the rafters and scares me even when I know to expect him).

After only two minutes of looking around bags of fertilizer (that I always forget I have) and around various tools (that should be better organized)- I found a dusty Black and Decker plastic case with the words "mouse sander" on the outside.  Hallelujah!!  It did not have the correct grit of sandpaper in the box, but that didn't matter - Lowe's is five minutes away.  I grabbed a quick shower*, "fixed" my hair*, and put on lipstick* (*the astricks denote quirky Southern habits ingrained in all Southern females beginning in the toddler years  - you cannot DARE leave your house without looking perfect) - I then headed to Lowe's with a song of praise in my heart.

After a long but fulfilling day, the lipstick is gone and there is paint in my hair, but I am happy with my efforts.   Here is a peek at my project.

I cannot wait to show you the final results.

WOW,must be the weekend to paint, I just posted a story about painting my bathroom! How funny! What you've done so far looks great.
LOVE the color!!!! Can't wait to see the end result...hurry!
I love the color and the furniture looks fab, I can't wait to see the room all pulled together! Which paint color did you end up using?

And I had to laugh about putting on lipstick, my mother never went anywhere without her lipstick on! Even if she was a mess, she still had on that lipstick when she went out! And I keep mine...lip balm with a hint of color... close by! I actually know a girl who keeps lipstick in her robe!!!
