Exteriors - Before and After

Before and Afters are so much fun.
This Old House currently has some great exterior transformations sent in by readers.

 Ho hum.

(painting brick can be "key" for some homes)

Although I loved the cedar shake - it was showing too much age -this home was certainly ready for a little attention...

Feels so clean and neat, doesn't it?

How brave do you have to be to buy this?............

Wow.  Worth it.

And this next little Greek Revival looks awesome...........

There is your inspiration for the day!  Get moving!

Love those! I'm with you, you had to be a brave soul to buy the one in all the bushes but WOW what a transformation.

I could look at houses all day. Those are great before and afters.

BTW, let's agree to never wear an ipod while walking down a train track.

Bravo. Love those red doors and the house liberated from the weeds.
How inspiring!! This makes me think that I should go outside and tidy up something now. The curb appeal at this old place of ours could use some help ... it'll come, I know it will.

Oh I love a good make over! Those were great:)
Such great transformations. Someone saw the jewel in that house hiding in the trees and weeds.

Oh my goodness, the house tucked behind the over grown bushes called to me the loudest! And look at how beautiful it became!
I hope you are having a great start to your week.
Sincerely ~ Trish
Ps. I really enjoy reading your Sunday scriptures. Thank you so much for posting them. :o)
Stunning!! Bravery + Vision = Perfection!!!

Brave yes! However the work involved just makes me tired to think of it. I know because we have a 150 year old house that is falling apart and needs painting and one thousand other things. ♥olive

I found your blog randomly and the name of it just reminded me of home. My Old Post Rd. is up in New England. That last photo was just stunning, thanks for sharing!
These transformations are pretty amazing. It's fun to see how they gave these old houses new life!

All these are so lovely, but I'm partial to painted brick houses, so the first one is my favorite. I've already made my hubs promise that our next house will be painted brick and smack in the middle of nowhere!
Ok, that does it, I'm calling my favorite painter this week to see about painting my ugly brick! Thanks for the inspiration!
