Wouldn't Historic Virginia be Great ?

Rather than clean and declutter and spruce up around here, I would rather daydream about living in an historic house in the middle of Virginia.

Virginia has beautiful old homes (With LAND!)

Here are my "finds," today.......

This victorian was built around 1901 and is located in Lynchburg, Virginia.

$399,000 - Six bedrooms, 4000 sf.

Nice woodwork, inside...........

But, maybe I would be more comfortable out in the country.

This 1779 home sits on 52 acres along the Appomatox River.

$400,000

Paradise.

Or, perhaps if I had an extra $17,500,000 (look at those zeros) I could have THIS view........

on 510 acres in the middle of Virginia.

Or maybe I just need 5 acres and an 1884 farmhouse........

$899,000 - Woodstock, Virginia

With a pool.........

This 1849 Carpenter Gothic home sits on 4 acres but is surrounded by 300 protected acres...

and includes outbuildings like this 1785 grist mill.........

$2,300,000 - in historic Charles City, Virginia - very close to Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown.

Here is one last Italianate beauty........

in historic downtown Fredricksburg.
$1,300,000

I am off to clean MY house! If you enjoy "shopping" for old homes, visit Kelly at Old House Dreamer - her blog shows historic homes every day.

Have a great day!

Oh Trish sweetie...
Thanks for my tour today. I loved each and every one of the homes. Aren't they just exquisite? I would love the acreaged homes as you don't have neighbors right on top of you. That would be outstanding.

Living in the big city of Phoenix, we have lots of neighbors. Sometimes you can hear everything they say from their patio to our bedroom (if my windows are open). I miss space most of all.

Have a beautiful day, thanks for sharing, and I will go and visit Kelly, as I haven't been there before, and I do love old houses.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Thanks for the comment, I am glad you left it b/c it led me to your fabulous blog! I love these homes in Virginia. I've been to that state only once and it was during the changing of the leaves and just incredibly beautiful. Your paintings are fantastic. Glad I found you!

Great post! I find it amazing that there are so many great places, with such history, to live (or visit). One of the great things about blogging is the ability to 'visit', even briefly, so many of my blogger friends' homes and vacation spots in places in North America (and further). Places I would love to go if only I had the money and all the time in the world. Thanks for sharing.

Would you believe that I live in Lynchburg and drive by that house every single day? It used to be the Junior League headquarters and was split into apartments. Someone spent a bundle fixing it up.
